Our History
The Okyeman Association of Georgia began with a vision to create a vibrant community for individuals of Akyem descent living in Georgia, USA. Rooted in the rich heritage of Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku, and Akyem Bosome, we sought to preserve our traditions while building a bridge between our roots in Ghana and our lives abroad.
What started as a small group of like-minded individuals has grown into a thriving organization that embraces diversity, fosters unity, and champions progress. Over the years, we have united men and women driven by a shared determination to uplift our community through cultural, social, and economic initiatives.
From organizing community events and supporting charitable causes to providing a platform for networking and mutual support, the Okyeman Association of Georgia has become more than just a group—it's a family. Together, we celebrate our culture, support one another, and strive to make a meaningful impact both here in Georgia and back home in Ghana.
